About the War Rig

The post-apocalyptic world is never pretty. It probably has something to do with the word “apocalypse”. Cruising across this desolate wasteland has never been easier after you get yourself a War Rig. This monstrous vehicle is armed to the teeth and equipped with an engine that only appears in thrill-seeker’s dreams. This fine piece of machinery is capable of running the dangerous gauntlet through hordes of crazy desert people who want nothing but to take all of your stuff. It’s a brutal world out there, but the War Rig will give you the edge you need to survive.

Equipped with dual 600-horsepower engines, the vehicle is a modified eighteen-wheeler that features a cabin fitted out with several firearms for easy access. The engine features a supercharger for extra power while the front of the vehicle is equipped with a “cow-catcher”, similar to those found on train locomotives. About the Char B1 Bis:

The Char B1 was a French heavy tank manufactured before WWII. It was designed as a specialized heavy break-through vehicle, originally conceived as a self-propelled gun with a 75mm howitzer in the hull. A 47mm gun in a turret was added to allow it to function also as a “battle tank”. Starting in the early twenties, its development and production were repeatedly delayed, resulting in a vehicle that was both technologically complex and expensive. It was already obsolete when mass-production of a derived version started in the late thirties.

Although it could combat the German Panzers with some effectiveness, its slow speed and high fuel consumption made it ill-adapted to rapid pace of the German blitzkrieg. After the defeat of France, captured Char B1 tanks would be used by Germany with some rebuilt as flamethrowers or mechanized artillery.

Guderian caught the attention of the Nazi regime with his book on armored tactics titled “Achtung-Panzer!” (Attention-Tank!). One of the few African-American units to see combat during the Great War, the Harlem “Hellfighters” were enlisted by the French to help reinforce their ranks. The “Hellfighter” name was given to the regiment by the Germans, who were impressed by their combat abilities. Among the technological advancements of the First World War, nations set out to produce modern artillery that could be used against fortified positions. The stalemate on the Western Front found designers trying to produce a weapon that could dislodge soldiers from their trenches. The British 4.5-inch howitzer was among the wide variety of artillery produced to accomplish this goal. These guns would see continued use through the Second World War and would be completely phased out in 1944.

About Type J Lorry – With QF 13-Pounder AA Cannon:

Much like other new weapons seen during the Great War, the first anti-aircraft guns were crude in nature. Some of the first British AA weapons would be 13-pound guns mounted in the bed of a Thornycraft J-type lorry. This equipment would also be accompanied by two other lorries carrying range-finding equipment and ammunition.

Early AA weapons faced new problems never seen before in combat. Unlike ground targets, aircraft can effectively move in three dimensions. The weapon would not only have to accurately target the aircraft, but also fire rounds with enough velocity to reach great altitudes. These techniques would be refined as the war continued, but little data exists as to how effective these weapons were in downing enemy aircraft.

About D-Type – WWI British Staff Car:

At about the same time Henry Ford began producing Model T’s in the United States, Vauxhall set out to design a car for the war effort. The onset of the Great War saw an expansion of automobile design and production. The “D-Type” model was reserved for military commanders and their staff, who often preferred it to horses. In the age of the machine gun and barbed wire, motor vehicles in all forms began to replace horses as the main mode of transportation both in and out of battle. Along with planes and tanks, the automobile would prove to be another major field of advancement during the Great War.

About the Offworld Marines Dropship:

Need a quick ride planet-side? The JC-64 Wolf Core Dropship is your primary transport in and out of combat. Capable of vertical takeoff and landing, the Dropship provides an efficient way to deploy either troops or the famed Offworld APC. Similar to twenty-first century helicopters, the Dropship not only deploys ground forces, but can also act as a support gunship.

The Dropship contains several hardpoints with a variety of armaments. The array of missiles can deal with many different threats including ground targets, enemy aircraft, and armored vehicles. The nose-mounted Gatling gun cupola can be equipped with several different types of ammunition and can be reloaded manually by the Dropship crew. The Dropship is commonly crewed by two members, a pilot and weapons officer. About the StuG III:

The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) is a infantry support vehicle produced by Germany in World War II. After lessons learned in the Great War, the Germans developed pinpoint artillery fire to break up enemy strong points such as machine gun nests and fortifications encountered by advancing infantry. The first prototype Stürmgeschutz vehicles were manufactured in 1937 based on the newly-designed Panzer III chassis.  Early variants of the StuG III (Ausf A-D) featured a 7.5cm short-barrel howitzer mounted in a low casement. The first Stürmartillerie battalions were formed from troops taken from Army artillery units.

The StuG III first saw action during the invasion of Poland in 1939. It became the most widely produced armored vehicle used by the Wehrmacht and saw several upgrades and improvements throughout the war.

When faced with more heavily armored Russian tanks such as the T-34 and KV-1, a long barrel high velocity gun was fitted, beginning with the Ausf F series in 1942. During the invasion of Russia, the StuG III’s role increasingly shifted from assault artillery to tank destroyer.
